BJEC presents the comprehensive capacity in the specialty of hydrology and water resources which involves historical flood investigation, rainstorm investigation, low-flow investigation, hydrological (stage) station, meteorological station, engineering hydrological analysis, flood forecasting, design and setting of hydrologic telemetry and forecasting system. BJEC possessed the certifications of “water resources demonstration Class-A for construction projects”, “water resources demonstration Class-A for planning projects”, and “Class-A of investigation and assessment of hydrology and water resources” issued by China Water Conservancy and Hydropower Investigation and Design Association. In recent years, BJEC has completed historical flood investigation and engineering hydrological analysis for dozens of large- and medium-sized hydropower and water resources projects such as Fengning pumped storage power station, and Qingyuan pumped storage power station; has set up many automatic meteorological stations, hydrological stage gauging stations for the hydropower projects; and has prepared the hydrological analysis report and the special reports of water resources demonstration and flood control assessment. The establishment, operation and maintenance of hydrologic telemetry and forecasting system works for Fengning and Qingyuan projects have been conducted, which provide the scientific basis for flood protection during construction and the regulation after the completion of the power station.
