The Vitebsk Hydropower Project in Belarus is located in the Vitebsk region of Belarus. The owner is the Vitebsk Energy Bureau. China National Electric Engineering Co., Ltd. is the EPC contractor and BJEC undertook the investigation and design, civil construction of the power station, hydraulic steel structure and construction supervision of mechanical and electrical equipment installation, monitoring design, procurement of some equipment, etc. The project commenced construction in May 2013, and all four units were connected to the grid at the end of December 2016; on July 31, 2017, the project was successfully accepted by the Belarusian owner and was handed over for operation. The Vitebsk Hydropower Station was mainly designed for power generation while playing the role of shipping channel and aquaculture. The total installed capacity of the power station is 40MW and the average annual energy output is 138 million kW.h, and the annual utilization hours are 3450h. Known as the "Three Gorges of Belarus", Vitebsk Hydropower Station is the largest hydropower station in Belarus. BJEC’s engineering design incorporates many factors such as Chinese and Belarusian design standards and regulations, design concepts, and drawing practices. The challenges and experience in the project process have been valuable assets of BJEC. |
